Pup's 1st Birthday

Meet Hazelnut. We rescued her as a puppy last March and today she turns ONE!
She's a rambunctious, easily excitable Shichi (Shi Tzu/ Chihuahua mix). She is 21lbs of muscle and doesn't quite yet know the brute of her strength. Her likes include belly-rubs, chasing around Peanut (our other pup), barking at neighborhood dogs, eating, and pushing her large build onto our ill-sized laps.

To mark the occasion, I made her a party hat which she surprisingly allowed me to place on her head, despite her obvious lack of amusement, and her own personalized message on the letterboard.

Happy birthday, Hazelnut!

LA Dodgers themed Christmas Tree

Our household consists of die-hard Los Angeles Dodger fans. You can imagine the hysteria that was our new normal when the Dodgers made it to the World Series!!!

Yes, we were heartbroken that they didn't quite clinch that World Series win, but there's always next season. Until then, we chose to celebrate our Boys in Blue with a Dodgers themed Christmas tree complete with DIY ornaments.
I used blue mesh and baseball ribbon and wrapped them around the tree several times.
I turned plain old plastic round ornaments into a glittery baseballs.
I decorated plastic ornaments discs with the LA Dodgers logos. Using my Silhouette, I cut "Dodgers" and "LA" from a blue vinyl sheet.

I made these jersey ornaments out of chipboard
Each one has the number of our many favorite Dodgers.

DIY Boxwood Christmas Wreaths

These babies couldn't have been easier to make! I bought the boxwood wreaths from Trader Joe's (I love me some Trader Joe's!) and the ribbon from the Dollar Store (SCORE!).
A little ribbon manipulation and some glue gun work later and the doors are ready to greet your guests for the Holiday season.
I'm so grateful that I snapped a photo of these as soon as I put them up. A day later, Santa Ana winds tore through and ruined the poor boweood wreaths. Oh, well. They were very pretty while it lasted...

3rd Annual Friendsgiving

The tablescape--it just screams harvest, doesn't it?
The place setting
 Leaf placecards with handwritting names
Mixing the fake garland of fall leaves and fresh sunflowers made the table pop.
The candles were lit; the food was ready to; I had to hold everyone back a second, so I could snap a quick pic.
 Ligthboard greetings

Pop-up Hamilton Pocket Mother's Day Card

I got elusive Hamilton tickets (**squeal**) and wanted to take my Mom. Mother's Day came about as a great occasion to gift them to her, but I wanted a creative way to present the gift to her without printing the actual tickets. Here's what I came up with!
The pocket envelope
The front of the card...wait for it...wait for it...
Fianlly, the pièce de résistance!
She loved the card and she loved the show!
